Power is ability or capacity to do something or act on a particular way. Simple as that. Power can be expressed physically, emotionally and professionally.
Physically – Physical power is ability to overcome resistance in the shortest period of time using force and velocity of the body or subject. When we are getting older, ability of power is decreasing and it should be developed as much as possible under controlled conditions, proper coaching and right frequency / intensity / volume.
Emotionally - Emotional power is the ability to use inherently short-term emotions for long-term best interests. Coping with emotions tend to be binary – expressing them or supressing them. Suppressing is bad for psychological and physical health. In I AM approach we are teaching people to express them to JUST FEEL BETTER. One of our approaches is integrating power exercises into our coaching methodology.
Professionally – Professional power is the ability of a person to exert her / his will over another. How a person chooses to use power in a workplace context depends greatly on the employee’s personality and position within the company. When person is physically and emotionally strong, ability to be the best version of yourself at your workplace is just positive consequence. Being the best role model for your family, friends, colleagues and community is something what is stay all life and after life.
